Passing place on a narrow road
A blue square with the words 'passing place' marks a wider pull-in on a single-track road where two vehicles can pass each other. If you meet oncoming traffic, the vehicle nearest the passing place pulls in (or reverses to it). Don't park in passing places — they're for traffic, not your lunch break.
