Friends & challenges

Revise with your friends, and beat them at it

Add your friends by username, then challenge them to 10-question theory battles on any topic. A bit of friendly competition is one of the easiest ways to keep revising, and your privacy stays in your hands.

How it works

From username to rematch in four steps

  1. Share your username

Your username is shown on your dashboard. Give it to a friend, or set a nickname if you would rather they saw that instead.

  2. Add each other

Type their exact username to send a request. They accept it on their dashboard, and you appear in each other's friends list.

  3. Pick a topic

Choose a friend and a theory topic, and New Driver Hub builds a 10-question challenge.

  4. See who wins

You both answer the questions, the higher score wins, and your record of wins, draws and losses updates.

Friends on your terms

Many learners are young, so the friends feature was designed to keep people you do not know out.

No search or directory

Nobody can browse or search for you. A friend needs your exact username to send a request.

Nickname instead of username

Choose a display name friends see instead of your username.

Pause new requests

Turn off new friend requests whenever you like, without removing the friends you already have.

Declined means declined

If you decline a request, that person cannot keep sending you new ones.

Limits on requests

The number of requests anyone can send in a day is capped, which stops people guessing usernames.

Gone when you leave

Delete your account and your friends list, requests and invites are deleted with it.

On your phone

Send a challenge from anywhere

Your friends list and challenges sit on your dashboard, so you can accept a challenge on the bus and answer it before your stop.
