Drivers should engage low gear for steep hill
A blue rectangle reminding drivers to select a low gear before descending or climbing the steep hill ahead. Engine braking on a descent is far more controlled than continuous brake-pedal pressure, which overheats the discs. On the climb, low gear stops the engine bogging down halfway up.
