Warning signs

Accompanied horses or ponies likely to be in or crossing road ahead

Red triangle warning that ridden or led horses/ponies may be on the road ahead. Pass slowly (under 15 mph if possible), give at least 2 metres clearance, and never sound your horn or rev your engine – horses startle easily. This sign is common in rural areas and is often tested in hazard perception because sudden movements from horses can cause loss of control. Always look well ahead and be prepared to stop if necessary.
